PTSD and Addiction

Too many people wander around this life in pain, medicating under the guise of recreation. I believe there is a direct link of unresolved triggers and symptoms to addiction. If the triggers aren’t addressed, addiction cannot be properly addressed.

I strongly believe that medical marijuana, in combination with productive therapy, works for me.  There will be a time in my recovery when I will no longer need it.  I must work toward that goal.

  1. Congratulations. That is a fabulous achievement. Would you feel comfortable sharing some of your process? I would be happy to re-post it here.

    1. It was my 21 birthday, in my last year of nursing school, when I had my first drink, getting drunk and not remembering what happened. I was an alcoholic for 20 years till I meet my husband, who has a history of extreme childhood abuse by his father on a daily basis. We stopped drinking together and now 22 years later we are still sober.
Nursing was my way out, psych nursing is my specialty, which lead me to years of therapy, followed by mind/body approaches and energy work. All my hard work has paid off. My husband and I did lots of work together and continue to evolve. It’s not easy when your soul chooses
to learn these lessons in this life, it is my purpose to heal and be an example for others.
I have always believes what the research is now showing about trauma and abuse, and even when it was not a recognized diagnosis, I follow my heart when it comes to healing. I found it did not matter what route I took on my path whatever approach I was using at the time was helpful for I always went with great healers with wonderful energy.

      aphysical abuse hi
